The group, founded in 1865, has a long history of violence mainly targeted at African-Americans, Jews, immigrants and members of the LGBT community. The incident is a sad and disturbing reminder that the KKK still functions actively all over the United States. It's believed that the suspect - identified as Frazier Glenn Cross, Jr., 73 - was once the grand dragon of the Carolina Knights of the Ku Klux Klan (KKK).
